PROFILE
Kelby Beyer
I’m a cartographer passionate about science communication based in Portland, OR. I currently work at NV5 Geospatial on NOAA's Coastal Change Analysis Program. My work has won awards including the NACIS Undergraduate Student Scholarship. I have deep field and lab research experience in archaeology and geology, including a published scientific journal article. Outside of my concurrent BS Anthropology (Archaeology) and BA Spanish degrees, I've taken college-level coursework in environmental studies, biology, geology, advanced mathematics, and journalism. I'm also bilingual in Spanish and enjoy involving Spanish in the work I do.
I'm especially interested in designing science communication maps and graphics accessible to wide audiences ranging from professional scientists to the general public. My backgrounds in cartography, science, and journalism prepare me for that work, and my drive to excel sets me apart.
In my free time, I love road cycling, going on walks, and listening to reggaeton and experimental pop.
